The walk to the Leaky Cauldron would remind most “Harry Potter” fans of the famous diagon alley (until the point when you reach the garbage collection point). Set in the back lanes of the “twisty-turny” Hauz Khas village, the place has an amazing view of the nearby lake and makes for a very romantic and cozy evening out. However, it can be enjoyed just as much with a group of close friends.

The ambience gives the appropriate “witchcraft” effect with various photos and wall paintings of witches, wizards, spiders and the likes.

This place really has kept the theme alive, not just with the interiors but also with its interesting menu (all dishes are given cute and interesting names adapted from famous magical movies/ stories).

The first page of the menu also narrates a short story about a witch that helped discover all the recipes served at this cafe:

We went in the evening and only ordered a few starters and drinks but all items exceeded my expectations in terms of food from this place. We ordered the vegetarian Quesadilla, supreme garlic bread and schezwan chicken, peach ice tea, virgin mojito and the mocha shake. The total bill for all these items was 1400 (in the affordable range considering it is located in one of the increasingly popular spots of South Delhi) and the portions were sufficiently filling.

The staff was pleasant and the service was super-dooper quick (but we did go on a dull Monday evening).

I would definitely go back to The Leaky Cauldron over and over, to discover more items tucked into Mr. Whiskers’ and the Witch’s mix of offerings.
